Claims Management

Jennifer Salpietro, Senior Vice President

jennifer-salpietroJennifer Salpietro is a Senior Vice President at Claim Strategies who has focused on advocating for clients and ensuring excellence in claims service for nearly 20 years. Jennifer joined the firm in 2000 and has been managing a claims department since 2011. She is a Licensed Insurance Advisor (LIA) and has 10 years of experience working with Risk Retention Groups providing Third Party Administrative services. Jennifer is an active member of the Travelers Agency Advisory Council, Assurex Claims and Loss Control Planning Committee and the AIG Advisory Board. As department manager, Jennifer oversees both the operation and sales divisions of Claim Strategies. With a wealth of industry experience across all lines of business, she offers our clients and employees extraordinary leadership. Jennifer holds a B.A. in Political Science from Providence College.

James Arnold, Vice President

james-arnoldJim Arnold is Vice President and Operations Manager at Claim Strategies with over 36 years of industry experience. Jim joined Claim Strategies in 1993 as the Medical Cost Containment Supervisor. He was named Manager in 1995 and has held various other leadership positions with the firm. Jim possesses a wealth of industry experience including medical rehabilitation, medical insurance, claims management, medical coding and subrogation recovery. His attention to detail and dedication to process improvement has laid the foundation for significant growth and expansion opportunities at Claim Strategies. Jim was certified by the Self-Insurance Unit of the Department of Labor, Division of Workers’ Compensation in 1993.

Nichole Magnifico, Assistant Vice President

nichole-magnificoWith over a decade of claims experience, Nichole joined the firm in 2014 as a Senior Claims Consultant. At the time of hire, Nichole was responsible for administering the Third Party Administration claims as well as providing commercial and workers compensation consultation services. Her excellent conflict resolution skills resulted in her quickly being promoted to Assistant Claims Manager in 2016. She continues to specialize in commercial insurance and workers compensation and now oversees the Subrogation Recovery Division of Claim Strategies. Nichole is a licensed claims adjuster. She graduated from Rhode Island College with a B.A. in Political Science & Anthropology and obtained her CPCU designation in 2016.

Donna Alexander, Claims Management Consultant

donna-alexanderWith over 34 years of industry experience, Donna has been an essential member of the Claim Strategies team for nearly 15 years. Donna’s core responsibilities include administering and managing lost time claims for the healthcare, eldercare, education and religious industries. Her superior customer service and attention to detail has driven her reputation for excellence. In addition to earning her Associate’s Degree in Legal Studies, Donna has also earned her SCLA and AIC designations and is a licensed workers compensation adjuster.

Donna Searles, Claims Specialist

Donna oversees the Injured On Duty program at Claim Strategies. With an extensive background in both law enforcement and claims, Donna is uniquely qualified to provide professional consultation services to police and fire districts in the region. Donna worked for the Providence Police Department for 23 years where she held various positions including Commanding Officer of the Human Resources Bureau. Donna joined the Beacon Mutual team in 2001 as a municipal claims specialist where she administered injured on duty claims for dozens of municipalities in Rhode Island. In 2011, Donna joined Claim Strategies where she provides organizational support in addition to administering the Injured On Duty program for multiple municipalities in Rhode Island. She provides her clients with professional expertise and has earned respect among the police and fire chiefs as well as the injured workers. Donna earned her Bachelor’s degree from Bryant University and her Master’s degree from Salve Regina University.

Paul Ricciardi, Claims Management Consultant

Paul currently specializes in manufacturing, eldercare and municipal claims adjustment. Paul’s ability to quickly resolve ordinary claims and pro-actively manage catastrophic claims sets him apart from most claim adjusters. He offers top notch customer service to each and every client with an emphasis on communication and effective claim resolution. Paul is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a B.A. in Journalism. He presently holds his LPCS designation and is a licensed workers compensation adjuster.

Ann Marie Tortolanni, Claims Management Consultant

She joined the Claim Strategies team in 2013 providing claims management services to large scale clients with a concentration on the healthcare industry. Ann Marie’s greatest asset is her ability to communicate and establish rapport with all parties to a claim which allows her to effectively facilitate favorable claim resolution. Rita Van Gyzen, Claims Specialist

Rita graduated from the Sawyer School of Business and has since taken numerous industry courses and certifications. Skylar Paris, Claims Specialist

Skylar joined the firm in July 2017 and is concentrating in commercial lines of business. As a Claims Specialist, Skylar’s primary responsibility is to advocate on behalf of our customers to effectuate a positive claims experience. With 10 years of subrogation experience, Skylar has a proven track record of efficient and effective claims management with exceptional recovery results. Skylar’s background includes recovery in the following concentrations: Municipal, Non-standard carrier, Auto recovery, No Fault/Medpay. In addition to subrogation recovery, Skylar also served as an arbitration panelist for Arbitration Forums where she resolved carrier to carrier conflicts. Skylar is a licensed claims adjuster and is currently pursuing her AIC designation.

Gilda Pereira, Claims Specialist

Specializing in large commercial accounts, Gilda goes above and beyond to promote the needs of our clients. In addition to client advocating, Gilda also provides coverage interpretation and facilitates the resolution of complex claims across all lines of business. Prior to joining the firm in 2001, Gilda worked as a Senior Claims Representative for Aon Risk Services in Providence, RI. Gilda currently maintains her adjuster’s license, broker’s license as well as her CPCU, ARM, AIC, AU, AMIM and SCLA designations.

Patricia Knight, Claims Specialist

patricia-knightPatricia joined the firm 26 years ago and has served as an advocate for both personal and commercial customers alike. Patricia possesses a wealth of industry knowledge and has earned her AIC and CISR designations in addition to maintaining her broker’s license. She provides a superior level of service to her clients, going above and beyond to bring their claims to a favorable resolution. Patricia graduated from Southeastern Massachusetts University with a B.S. in Business Management and is currently working towards her CPCU designation.

Justin Williams, Claims Specialist

At Claim Strategies, Justin specializes in providing coverage analysis and consultation for our construction, marine, non-profit and hospitality clients. Justin works closely and diligently with clients for favorable results in coverage and amicable resolution of claims. This creates a needed and valued level of trust, which benefits not only the clients but their employees.
