Claims Management

Assistance with the administration and management of Injured on Duty and Disability claims in accordance with department policies, collective bargaining agreements and Section 45-19-1 of the general laws of the State of Rhode Island.

Jennifer Salpietro, Senior Vice President

Jennifer Salpietro is a Senior Vice President at Claim Strategies who has focused on advocating for clients and ensuring excellence in claims service for nearly 20 years. Jennifer joined the firm in 2000 and has been managing a claims department since 2011. She is a Licensed Insurance Advisor (LIA) and has 10 years of experience working with Risk Retention Groups providing Third Party Administrative services. Jennifer is an active member of the Travelers Agency Advisory Council, Assurex Claims and Loss Control Planning Committee, and the AIG Advisory Board. As department manager, Jennifer oversees both the operation and sales divisions of Claim Strategies. With a wealth of industry experience across all lines of business, she offers our clients and employees extraordinary leadership. Jennifer holds a B.A. in Political Science from Providence College.

Justin Williams, Claims Specialist

justin-williamsA licensed claims adjuster, Justin joined the firm in 2016. Justin was previously employed with The Hanover Group where he adjusted auto and liability claims. At Claim Strategies, Justin specializes in providing coverage analysis and consultation for our construction, marine, non-profit and hospitality clients. Justin works closely and diligently with clients for favorable results in coverage and amicable resolution of claims. This creates a needed and valued level of trust, which benefits not only the clients but their employees. Justin graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy. He is currently working towards his CPCU designation.

Pasquale "Pat’ Granata

Pat will be the City’s dedicated consultant for Police & Fire as well as Heart and Hypertension claims. Pat recently joined our Police & Fire division at Claim Strategies. With an extensive background in law enforcement, human resources, and Police & Fire claims administration, Pat is uniquely qualified to provide professional consultation services to our men and women in uniform. Pat brings to our program a vast array of experience having worked for the Providence Police Department for 33 years. During his tenure with the City of Providence, he held various positions including Director of Human Resources Bureau, Administrative and District Sargent, and Patrol Officer. His experience includes administering the Injured-On-Duty program for the Providence Police Department. Pat earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Bryant University and his Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University.

Skylar Paris, Claims Specialist

Skylar joined the firm in July 2017 and is concentrating in commercial lines of business. As a Claims Specialist, Skylar’s primary responsibility is to advocate on behalf of our customers to effectuate a positive claims experience. With 13 years of subrogation experience, Skylar has a proven track record of efficient and effective claims management with exceptional recovery results. Skylar’s background includes recovery in the following concentrations: Municipal, Non-standard carrier, Auto recovery, No Fault/Medpay. In addition to subrogation recovery, Skylar also served as an arbitration panelist for Arbitration Forums where she resolved carrier to carrier conflicts. Skylar is a licensed claims adjuster and is currently pursuing her AIC designation.

James Arnold, Claims Management Consultant

james-arnoldJim Arnold, claims consultant at Claim Strategies with over 36 years of industry experience. Jim joined Claim Strategies in 1993 as the Medical Cost Containment Supervisor. He was named Manager in 1995 and has held various other leadership positions with the firm. Jim possesses a wealth of industry experience including medical rehabilitation, medical insurance, claims management, medical coding, and subrogation recovery. His attention to detail and dedication to process improvement has laid the foundation for significant growth and expansion opportunities at Claim Strategies. Jim was certified by the Self-Insurance Unit of the Department of Labor, Division of Workers’ Compensation in 1993.

Donna Alexander, Claims Management Consultant

donna-alexanderWith over 34 years of industry experience, Donna has been an essential member of the Claim Strategies team for nearly 15 years. Donna’s core responsibilities include administering and managing lost time claims for the healthcare, eldercare, education and religious industries. Her superior customer service and attention to detail has driven her reputation for excellence. In addition to earning her Associate’s Degree in Legal Studies, Donna has also earned her SCLA and AIC designations and is a licensed workers compensation adjuster.

Paul Ricciardi, Claims Management Consultant

paul-ricciardiJoining Claim Strategies in 2014, Paul brought with him 15 years of countrywide worker’s compensation experience. Paul currently specializes in manufacturing, eldercare and municipal claims adjustment as well as provides consulting and subrogation services for a number of companies in RI and MA.  Paul’s ability to quickly resolve ordinary claims and pro-actively manage catastrophic claims sets him apart from most claim adjusters. He offers top-notch customer service to each and every client with an emphasis on communication and effective claim resolution. Paul is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a B.A. in Journalism. He presently holds his LPCS designation and is a licensed workers compensation adjuster.

Ann Marie Tortolanni, Claims Management Consultant

She joined the Claim Strategies team in 2013 providing claims management services to large scale clients with a concentration on the healthcare industry. Ann Marie’s greatest asset is her ability to communicate and establish rapport with all parties to a claim which allows her to effectively facilitate favorable claim resolution. Our clients can trust that each claim will be thoroughly investigated by Ann Marie and that she will offer sound advice to effectuate the best business decision possible while following the letter of the law for each venue. Ann Marie maintains her worker’s compensation adjuster’s license in RI, CT, and ME.

Patricia Knight, Claims Specialist

patricia-knightPatricia joined the firm 26 years ago and has served as an advocate for both personal and commercial customers alike. Patricia possesses a wealth of industry knowledge and has earned her AIC and CISR designations in addition to maintaining her broker’s license. She provides a superior level of service to her clients, going above and beyond to bring their claims to a favorable resolution. Patricia graduated from Southeastern Massachusetts University with a B.S. in Business Management and is currently working towards her CPCU designation.

Jennifer Gibb, Claims Specialist

Jennifer possesses strong customer service skills that our Vineyard clients have come to rely on. She offers trusted advice focused on delivering a favorable claims experience to our customers. Jennifer graduated with an Associate’s degree from Katharine Gibbs College.

Jonathan Cuneo

Jonathan has worked in safety since 2008 when he started his own business consulting for construction companies in the region. In 2013, Jonathan was hired by Shell Canada as Chief Safety Officer at the Fort McMurray Oil Refinery in Alberta Canada. In 2017 he began working for a large construction conglomerate where he oversaw safety and compliance for nine companies spanning several industries. His responsibilities included creating a safety program that satisfied the requirements of OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, MSHA, and other regulatory bodies. In 2016 Jonathan became certified by the NFPA Fire Ground Safety Coordinator and was appointed as a safety officer for his local fire department. He continues to assist with department safety during large events such as structure fires, MVC, and other special situations. Jonathan holds his degree in Occupation Health and Safety from Bridgewater State University. He has OSHA certified for General Industry and Construction compliancy. He is an American Safety Council Advanced Safe Certified as well as a certified National Safety Officer (NCSO). Jonathan has written several safety-related articles for Construction Outlook, OHS Magazine, and Fire House Magazine.
